First Konapun Grail Acquired!!

This was an older post I had written over a year ago, but forgot to publish! It's not fully done, but I figure I will be moving everything to my website soon, so I will probably not be adding more to it on here.

So here it is~! ^^

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So yup, my Konapun came in... got my first grail item, the Burger Kitchen!! TA-DA!! I sort of can't believe I was able to get more Konapun... it was very expensive, but now I can stop drooling over pics of them! ^^; I was surprised at the number of food powder packets included with this set. The Burger Kitchen set is generally more expensive than the Cooking Studio Kitchen set, is physically bigger (wider), and has more food powders although they make similar items: 5 burgers, 5 hot-dogs, and 2 fries (...I think) while the Cooking Studio makes more varied types of foods, but only one of each dish.
I opened everything up and here is a pic of the contents!
I didn't have time to make anything with it yet, but I couldn't wait to post a pic up after I got it! ^^;; I couldn't even wait to get my boyfriend out of view before taking the pic (haha I'm kidding, he was watching something on his comp and I didn't wanna ask him to move xD)
I really like the fryer with it's basket and strainer/shelf thingy is really cool, and I like the baking unit... it's like a fast food diner's "industry" sized oven. xD The only thing I was a little confused about was the potato mould... it's shaped with handles on the sides like how all the moulds that require "baking" are shaped, but it's too wide/long and tall to fit anywhere for baking! I guess it's just supposed to sit outside on the counter? o_O;
Overall I'm quite happy with the set, hopefully I will update this post soon with pics of burgers and fries! xD
Oshare Majo Love and Berry Cards for sale! xD
Whoa it's been a long time since I posted. Eventually I'll be moving everything to my personal website, once I get everything figured out and up and running! =)
But I decided to make a quicky to help promote the sale of my Love and Berry cards. lol xD
If you don't know Love and Berry, it was an arcade game in Japan where you play a rhythm game and try to beat your opponent. BUT the kincher is that you can swipe cards to dress up your character "appropriately" in order to get the crowd moving and achieve a better score. Each card has either a hair/makeup style on it, a dress or outfit, or shoes - totalling hundreds of cards altogether so you can mix and match. Oh, did I mention that you get a card EVERY time you played the game?? (Mind blowing, I know... Dx)
Every card is shimmery and has varying degrees of shiny-ness, depending on the rarity. And who doesn't love shiny cards... even boys do! xD
Then they came out with a Nintendo DS game that comes with a card swiping peripheral (GBA slot ftw) plus 10 cards, so you can swipe those awesome item cards in your DS game! So of course being mind-blown as I was, I went and collected a crap load of cards after Hien bought me the DS game...... and now I have tons of duplicates. =___=;;
So... TA-DA! I am selling my duplicate Love and Berry cards on eBay. lol
Please search for "Love and Berry" on eBay to find my cards! And please read the auction carefully for the condition of the cards and which ones I have! xD
Thanks for looking! x3
March Release 2012 - Pullip Regeneration Series O_O
As many people have probably already heard, Groove is re-releasing old Pullips!! They are part of the Regeneration Series or aka Fukkoku Edition!!
First phase is out for pre-order now and they are Fanatica and Fantastic Alice!! xDD Second phase will be Moon and Anne! xD Each doll is limited to 500 pieces worldwide! @___@
Fanatica is one of my grails so I've already pre-ordered her! <33 Supposedly there are slight changes to the regeneration girls than the originals. They will have type 4 bodies, but I am not sure how much the moulds and face-up will change (these I am hoping will be similar enough to the originals though... I adore Fanatica's eyes and face and it's why she's my grail! Dx). I've read others who have said that they may also be changing the plastic, so shiny-faced original girls will end up having matt faces in the regeneration series. Though everything I know is from other people's blogs and posts, so I don't know anything for sure... (drats!)
Many people are also upset about the re-releases... probably because they had to save up a long time and bite the bullet at $300-$450 for these dolls. But since there will be differences between the original dolls and these re-releases, I think they can rest assured that their dolls will always be the 'original' and will still hold their value. Some have raised the issue that it will be harder to tell the difference between the originals and the re-releases when looking to buy the original - causing a lot more scamming - which I agree will probably be an issue. But if they are buying a MIB original, they will be able to tell the differences on the packaging - loose dolls will probably be harder to tell unless you get close ups of the body and face.
I for one am glad for the re-releases (can you tell? lol) and do not mind if there are differences. Although I've been a long time collector, I couldn't bring myself to pay that much money for a single pullip doll (maybe if I won the lottery?). So I think these re-releases will be a nice alternative for me and many new and old collectors who can't afford the originals.
Alright, enough talk... picture spamming time!!
I've also tried looking at pictures of the original Fanatica and compared it to the re-released pics and they seem similar enough... so can't do anything except wait till I get mine and see!! x3
July release: Romantic Alice Pullip line
Groove has announced July 2011's release will be a collab with Angelic Pretty again to bring you the Romantic Alice in Wonderland series! x3 Supposed to contrast the darker Lunatic Alice release from before, this Alice set features a softer and sweeter look, with lots of lace and embellishments on the outfits... Have a look!
We have Pullip as Romantic Alice, Taeyang as the Romantic Mad Hatter, Dal as the Romantic White Rabbit, Byul as the Romantic Queen, and Isul as the Romantic King. It seems the King and Rabbit don't have their own photos yet, maybe later they will? Click the thumbnails to see the larger image!
I quite like Alice, and Romantic King is the first Isul I like... I'm not crazy about his stock but I like his face up and long hair. xD I guess I will probably be in trouble for the pre-order of Romantic Alice... not sure about Isul yet though! Will have to see what the pre-order price is! x3 Anyone else?
Popin' Cookin'!
So in the midst of being totally obssessed with Konapun, I noticed there was something kinda like Konapun but edible, and some of the dishes, like the sushi set, looks almost exactly the same and is made similarily! Made with disposable tools and candy powder, these are the Popin' Cookin' sets by Kracie! The tools are basically moulded white plastic containers (all connected) that are often used for candy and food packaging (pics to come). I decided to hunt around for these to see if I could try them out and compare them to Konapun as well. And the verdict? Pretty close, but not as cool. xD The candy tastes REALLY sweet and not all that great... ^^; Imagine eating mushy, watery, synthetic fruit flavoured puree jelly, or wet marshmallow cottonballs? lol Okay that sounds worse than it is, but it's not as yummy as your run-of-the-mill, typical Japanese candy that's for sure! (and THOSE are good) I think I'd rather not eat it, which ends up making it the same as Konapun. xP
I could only find the following after a few weeks of hunting all the candy shops that I knew... and my boyfriend and sister are happy that I have finished most of the hunting so I don't have to drag them around anymore, lol.
I believe I am missing the Pizza/Pasta set still. And there are two other candy-making kits by Kracie which I'd love to get my hands on to try as well! These are Happy Kitchen Cupcake and Happy Kitchen Donuts! But for now, you'll have to settle for some shots of the Popin' Cookin' individual packages:
The packaging for the Soft Candy (middle right) has different goodies depicted on it (the two boxes I got have different images) but the contents are exactly the same. The Jelly Candy (bottom left) have the exact same outer packaging, but the candy moulds (cookie cutters) come in different shapes so it depends which set you get. You can see through the little clear window on the front to try to make out the different ones though. Here is a pic of the two Soft Candy packaging:
I tried the Bento and Sushi sets so far and they were pretty fun. The results of the Sushi set look really good, although I can't say the same with the Bento set. lol
The 2 plates and tray for the sushi are from Konapun and DO NOT come with the Popin Cookin kits! And the little green and yellow boxes pictured holding the noodles and sprinkles from the Bento set are also from my own collection and does not come with Popin Cookin. The sets only come with a foil bag, that you can cut-out a place mat (see under the Bento food items) which has a picture of a bento box for the bento set – the sushi one has a picture of a wooden sushi serving platter. The only reusable parts from Popin Cookin kits are the fork/spoon/water dropper tools you may get to mix the powder with water (this again depends which set you get) and the white plastic tray that houses all the moulds you need for the kit you buy. (later on I will try to post pics of the contents of each set!)
I will be trying the others in the coming days, and will let you know how they turn out! =3
Experimental Type - Stop Motion
This was my first project for Experimental Typography Class. This project is based around a Six Word Story, where one must use only 6 words to tell a story (more information can be found here: http://www.sixwordstories.net/about) and use household items to illustrate the story using type and visuals to create a stop motion video.
I took about 140 photographs with the help of a classmate, and made the stop motion movie using After Effects. And the light was soooo hot (I needed it very bright since mine was in a box... good one, self. Dx) that by the end of the shooting, all my plasticine was melted! I actually burnt myself when removing them at the end... T__T
