July release: Romantic Alice Pullip line

Groove has announced July 2011's release will be a collab with Angelic Pretty again to bring you the Romantic Alice in Wonderland series! x3 Supposed to contrast the darker Lunatic Alice release from before, this Alice set features a softer and sweeter look, with lots of lace and embellishments on the outfits... Have a look!

We have Pullip as Romantic Alice, Taeyang as the Romantic Mad Hatter, Dal as the Romantic White Rabbit, Byul as the Romantic Queen, and Isul as the Romantic King. It seems the King and Rabbit don't have their own photos yet, maybe later they will? Click the thumbnails to see the larger image!

I quite like Alice, and Romantic King is the first Isul I like... I'm not crazy about his stock but I like his face up and long hair. xD I guess I will probably be in trouble for the pre-order of Romantic Alice... not sure about Isul yet though! Will have to see what the pre-order price is! x3 Anyone else?

Popin' Cookin'!

So in the midst of being totally obssessed with Konapun, I noticed there was something kinda like Konapun but edible, and some of the dishes, like the sushi set, looks almost exactly the same and is made similarily! Made with disposable tools and candy powder, these are the Popin' Cookin' sets by Kracie! The tools are basically moulded white plastic containers (all connected) that are often used for candy and food packaging (pics to come). I decided to hunt around for these to see if I could try them out and compare them to Konapun as well. And the verdict? Pretty close, but not as cool. xD The candy tastes REALLY sweet and not all that great... ^^; Imagine eating mushy, watery, synthetic fruit flavoured puree jelly, or wet marshmallow cottonballs? lol Okay that sounds worse than it is, but it's not as yummy as your run-of-the-mill, typical Japanese candy that's for sure! (and THOSE are good) I think I'd rather not eat it, which ends up making it the same as Konapun. xP

I could only find the following after a few weeks of hunting all the candy shops that I knew... and my boyfriend and sister are happy that I have finished most of the hunting so I don't have to drag them around anymore, lol.

I believe I am missing the Pizza/Pasta set still. And there are two other candy-making kits by Kracie which I'd love to get my hands on to try as well! These are Happy Kitchen Cupcake and Happy Kitchen Donuts! But for now, you'll have to settle for some shots of the Popin' Cookin' individual packages:

The packaging for the Soft Candy (middle right) has different goodies depicted on it (the two boxes I got have different images) but the contents are exactly the same. The Jelly Candy (bottom left) have the exact same outer packaging, but the candy moulds (cookie cutters) come in different shapes so it depends which set you get. You can see through the little clear window on the front to try to make out the different ones though. Here is a pic of the two Soft Candy packaging:

I tried the Bento and Sushi sets so far and they were pretty fun. The results of the Sushi set look really good, although I can't say the same with the Bento set. lol

The 2 plates and tray for the sushi are from Konapun and DO NOT come with the Popin Cookin kits! And the little green and yellow boxes pictured holding the noodles and sprinkles from the Bento set are also from my own collection and does not come with Popin Cookin. The sets only come with a foil bag, that you can cut-out a place mat (see under the Bento food items) which has a picture of a bento box for the bento set – the sushi one has a picture of a wooden sushi serving platter. The only reusable parts from Popin Cookin kits are the fork/spoon/water dropper tools you may get to mix the powder with water (this again depends which set you get) and the white plastic tray that houses all the moulds you need for the kit you buy. (later on I will try to post pics of the contents of each set!)

I will be trying the others in the coming days, and will let you know how they turn out! =3

Experimental Type - Stop Motion

This was my first project for Experimental Typography Class. This project is based around a Six Word Story, where one must use only 6 words to tell a story (more information can be found here: http://www.sixwordstories.net/about) and use household items to illustrate the story using type and visuals to create a stop motion video.

I took about 140 photographs with the help of a classmate, and made the stop motion movie using After Effects. And the light was soooo hot (I needed it very bright since mine was in a box... good one, self. Dx) that by the end of the shooting, all my plasticine was melted! I actually burnt myself when removing them at the end... T__T

Hope you like it!

Motion Graphics - Game Trailer

My final project for Motion Graphics was a title sequence or trailer for a game, book, or movie that is related to our fake channels. I chose to make a fake game trailer for the game Little Big Planet. (which reminds me I have to finish playing LBP2 still, but stupid Sony problems probably means new progress won't be recorded like the other games... sigh)

All video footage is from GameTrailers.com, music is CornMan by Kinki, and images are from an official LBP asset pack (which was available for download for their Deviant Art contest) and off the net. =P

Hope you like it!

School's out!

Wahahaha... so happy school is finished for the year!!! Summer break now!!

More games, more blogging (have a ton of things to catch up with, a ton of hobbies, and Pullips too!), and of course more KONAPUN!! I spent a lot of money (and I mean a LOT T__T) but I've got a bunch on the way in the mail! I figure, these guys seem to be discontinued, so once I get as much as I can in my collection, I can stop (and lick my wounds... poor wallet...) So Pullips are kind of on hold for now since they continually make those and they aren't as hard to find. ^^;

I'll post pics and give more details on the Konapun I got when they arrive... so you'll have to wait to know what I got! Nyahaha... xD Sindy and I are gonna go nuts when they arrive. And Sindy will be super stoked too, cause I bought her some as well! It'll be her surprise Birthday and Xmas presents... bwahahah... I mean... Shhhh... Hehehe...
